Melaneyes Media started as an independent film company based in San Antonio Texas, hosting in person film screenings at local theaters. When COVID-19 struck the US and so many physical gatherings came to a halt, we were forced to rethink our business model.
In April of 2020 we began hosting weekly online presentations and discussions surrounding topics such as:
- The life and words of Malcolm X
- The African Presence in America Before Columbus
- Blacks at the Alamo
- African Symbols
- The Life of Carter G Woodson
- The History of Lynching
And so many others.
This helped us grow a strong group of supporters who join us on a regular basis. We expanded the size of our email list exponentially and gained an international audience reaching from the U.S. Canada, Australia, to the UK.
We are now looking to expand our following and improve the customer experience with this private membership.

Expect accountability. Instructors and administrators will also be checking in with members individually to make sure that you are completing assignments and getting the most from your online learning experience.
COST AND VALUE
There is a concerted effort to whitewash history and ignore the contributions of Black People in our society. Anything that challenges the narrative of a Eurocentric world view is looked upon as a threat.
Black History is more necessary now than it has ever been and it is clear that we can not depend on the public school system to educate our children. However, as adults we must make sure that we are well informed enough to guide the next generation.
This is one of the reasons we see such value in this community as we are offering our story from a Black perspective in a way that is uplifting and relative to the present conditions we see all around us.
